I want and alarm/auto-start... and the right stereo harness

Im looking for advice as to where to get a an alarm/auto-start combo maybe w/ turbo timer...

I went to best buy and the guy who does the installs seems like he knows his stuff, but he says it'll run about $800-$900 to get the viper 5901 installed.
He says that because it is an mr2 and that it comes with the security system it is more expensive...
Does anyone on here know of a place that is good, but is not going to charge me near a grand to do it?

We can do it, I PM'ed you a while back. Reasonable rates, and we have references on the board if you need. We have installed a Viper 5901 into an MR2 before.

900 bucks? thats ridiculous for a quote i can do cheaper and better. Heck i know every wire from the frunk to the trunk but my work is thorough meaning no crappy crimps you see everyone uses (I solder my wires).
I would not recommend a auto start on a manual especially with a car that has a piss poor hand brake like the mr2.
There has been enough people crashing to other parked cars because they have the habit of leaving it in gear.

Incidentally, does anyone know where to pickup a harness for a 91 premium sound system with the rca preamp plugs?

can you get a pic of the harness? the 91 i've known doesn't have a patch harness compared to the 92+

if it looks like this one then you maybe in luck, i got the same one i placed in my car but i may buy a few set just to have around for emergency

For some reason i have pin 8 in my stock deck and in the harness from the car...
All the other images i have found have that pin omitted, anyone have any idea why?

I ended up getting a compustar alarm/starter w/ turbo timer that was on sale at visions, i think maybe the guy at bestbuy was a douche because it wasnt anywhere near $900.
Also i got that harness off e-bay and it worked perfectly (91 turbo w/ premium sound). PC9-406 ftw.

sweet, the jerk probably just doesn't want to touch your car. that being said i've seen shoddy install thats still around 380.

Yeah, he said it would take 2 days to do the install. Sounds like he just wanted to be lazy.
