Friday Night:

Mission Street Legal Drags - Now a BCMR2 tradition!

Street Legal Rules

Gates open at 4:30 p.m., racing starts at 5:30 p.m. and ends at approx. 11:00 p.m. (weather permitting).

Entry Fees:

* Car & Driver $35.00
* Spectator / Crew $5.00 per person
* Children 12 and under always FREE with an adult
* Parking always FREE (No spectators are permitted to park in the Pit area.)
* Mission Residents 19 & over free with picture ID (under 19 must be accompanied by an adult)

Image

Spectators - Premeet at the usual Lougheed mall upper parking lot, south side 6pm.

Camp Party at Cam_132's - There's tons of room for '2s and people, less that 20 minutes from Mission Raceway! You are welcome to go before the races to set up your camp gear and drop off your food and whatnot ahead of time.

BBQ: Please bring your own food and drink, you can pick anything up at the Save-On Foods right outside the Raceway after leaving the park. It's open until midnight. We did this to avoid any payment ahead of time for the event.

Map: Click Me!

Optional Night Drive - We've had great drives in the past, if there's enough interest then you can count on another

Saturday Day:

Canyon Drive:

We meet at Sunrise Toyota at 9:30am. Drive to Hope, take the Highway 1 route north through the Fraser Canyon.

*EDIT* Please bring an FRS radio if you can get one, it enables us to maintain contact with everyone so we can announce where we are stopping, or if you fall behind from the group.

It's a spectacular, winding highway with minimal traffic that follows the Fraser River. There are several stops of interest along the way, historic and natural, and you can see some old train tunnels from the highway that were built right into the mountains. The highway itself is curvy and there are several tunnels we would go through where we could take some awesome pictures.

We will be stopping at Hell's Gate for a photo op and break, this is a paved lot. We will then be stopping in Boston Bar. The restaurant is TBA.

Saturday Night:

Twilight Drive In

A BCMR2 tradition, we all gather together for an old fashion drive in theatre experience. Three movies for only $12.50 broadcast over FM radio so you can get sweet sound right inside your '2. Meet at the drive in at approximately 7pm so that we are able to park as a group.

Sunday:

Car Show'n'Shine

Join BCMR2 and represent at the biggest import car show of the year, the REVScene summer meet. Expect to see 400+ local tuners of all makes and models. These meets fill up super fast. For those that came out to the summer meet, we got there around 10:40am for a 12pm meet and it was almost completely filled up with in 10-15 minutes of our arrival. This year we want to make sure to get there early.

Pre-Meet:

Lougheed Mall upper parking lot @ 9:00am, leave @ 9:30am sharp!

Richmond Night Market Parking Lot (Behind Home Depot, Sweden Way, Vauxhall Pl/Frontage Road and River Rd, Right off of Knight Street Bridge)

I'll be there for most of them if not all, sounds like fun. For Friday are you guys planning on drag racing or just spectating? It might take me a while to flush my coolant and replace it with water since I've never done it before. :oops:

Most come to watch the Mustangs and old mucle cars blast down the strip, but if you want to drag you'll have a heck of a cheering section. 8)

My brother wants to come along with us in his 240 too, I think I might run against him (he has way more experience so I think the match should be even :silly: ) . Though, I'm sure I'll have a lot of motivation from you guys to keep me ahead of him :wink: .

Actually Pete the street legal Fridays feature a lot more import cars than muscle cars. Everything from Hondas to Supras and inbetween. I have seen more than one MR2 there on the few times I've been this year. None were in our club, either. They have four classes, a sport compact, a domestic, outlaw (slicks), and a motorbike class. The sport compact class is usually the biggest.

It's a great way to see how your car runs to redline :D

Sure... but keep in mind that's not a legal thing to do on the streets... ^_^

Anywho... you will love it Pete, I'm sure. You should totally race yours too, you can have the timeslips framed and post them beside your giant MR2 picture in your living room! :D

I would just like to recommend to everyone if you are planning to camp out at Cam's place, to come BEFORE the races because it will lessen the confusion and it will be easier to set everybody up in the daylight. You can also bring your things for the BBQ and leave them here so everything is ready for you when we get back.
