Great Local Deals! :)

Postby Goopi » Sun Dec 11, 2011 1:28 pm

I would just like to share this with the community, Canadian Tire has an incredible sale on this 233 piece socket set, 70% off!

Check it out (the tools are placed in a different position than the picture they provided though, that is probably an old picture).

They also have a pair of ramps on for $34.99, I got 4 in total, usually you can never find ramps this cheap. Hopefully they work well with my ride height.

Oh, lets not forget about these ratcheting wrench set, 50% off. I had just the 14mm before, and this is one of my favourite tools at the moment.

Those ramps are no good, you want the low profiles me/pete/skydive dan has.

I haven't tried going on them with my car, I think it just might do the trick, if not, then we still have a Camry and Sebring, and even a 240sx (stock 4x4 height) which it'll probably work on.

Damn, those are pretty good deals. If I didn't already have all of those I would be down at CT right now.

To be honest I had everything in there except for one of the ratchets (I've been using a sparkplug ratchet for the past 3 years), but the problem is that almost all of my tools are from Princess Auto, and we all know how well their sockets fit.... :P

No more Princess Auto tools for me now. 8)

I picked up a set of ramps at CT that had extensions....they work very will with low cars. My 928 is too low for regular ramps.....but the ramps with extensions work great on my 928.

Even though it would be awesome to have that tool set like that with you at all times, I would be really paranoid about someone stealing it. Don't tell me that its because I live in Surrey, Lol, Its happened to my dad in Vancouver about 3 times, in downtown on Robson though.

One quick detail on how these ramps could suit your ride.

My car is lowered on TRD springs with well supported Koni shocks and I have a 91' lip(sagging though) and It just skims the lip.

Great Local Deals! :)

Postby Goopi » Tue Aug 27, 2013 11:07 am

First things first. No, I am not getting paid for advertising for Canadian Tire... :P

Just throwing this in there for someone who may be interested. Canadian Tire has their Maximum Mastercraft 86 piece tap and die set for sale from $180 to $60 which is 2/3 off as their website states!

http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/6 ... ?locale=en

Just use a wirebrush to clean the old nuts and bolts and run this over and you'll feel like you're working on a brand new car with new nuts and bolts! :D
You see some odd reviews, but honestly we've used this thing problem free for just about 2 years now and it's been such a pleasure!

I've had that set for a while too. Canadian tire has a lot of great sales on tools for the hobbyist/backyard mechanic.

Okay this one is not local, but I for all you 3sgte gen 2 guys.

Read #10 below.... :o
http://mr2oc.com/showthread.php?t=477306

Thank me when you're back in consciousness!

I would jump on it instantly myself too, but I try to avoid parts which will have no use to me when I go 2gr (in a long time probably).
....I'm not going to lie, even after taking that into consideration I'm still debating whether I should jump on it because of the deal.

I find it difficult to get excited when there are literally only one or two items of these products available. A more worthwhile event would be if they had many of them.
