Intercooler system has arrived!

OMG, all i have to say, is that the heat exchangers from Frozenboost.com are absolutely a tank. This thing is so strong. The end caps are made of 1/4 inch aluminum as well as the mounting tabs. Very heavy i must say, but it feels as though you could toss it off a building and it would survive. Now i know why people can push these things past 50psi with no problems. For those on the edge about the "cheap Chinese" quality think no more. This stuff is top notch.

Here are some pictures of me messing around with the mounting options. I also removed the AC condenser and the condenser fan along with all of the air routing plastic pieces that are associated. Removing all this was definitely more weight than the heat exchanger i am putting in.

I will be mounting the heat exchanger to the Bumper core using a 2x2 inch aluminum angle piece. I will be picking up the existing holes in the bumper core that currently are used to holt the bumper skin on with plastic rivets, to mount the angle. i will be adding approximately 6 more mounting tabs to the top of the heat exchanger, for added mounting surface and support. The mounting tabs are a thick 1/4 inch aluminum already, but i will not be utilizing the bottom tabs. I just want to make sure i get this thing on there strong, since it is pretty heavy. There is endless amounts of room to mount anything i want in there. I could put the largest air to air intercooler in there if i was going that route!

This first picture is the core just sitting on the bumper lip. Just to get a feel of the look. It will be perfectly centered when it is complete.

Circled in red are the original bumper core mounting holes for the bumper skin. I will be using these existing holes for the angle mounting.

Extra Tabs for the intercooler have been made and welded on. I may be making additional arm style brackets to support the bottom before installation.

Added 6 extra Tabs

Completed the installation of the heat exchanger for the intercooler system. This was surprisingly simple to do. The spacing is so perfect. If i didn't know any better i would say this heat exchanger was perfectly built for the E36.

Here's some more eye candy of the mounting process of the heat exchanger.

Next up is to get the pump mounted and plumbed up. On a side note, the supercharger i got just passed with an A+ when being tested. I wanted to make sure everything was safe and sound since i got it for a steal!

Well i have been gone for 2 weeks on a road trip. I am back now and things are back on track with the project. I have received the new supercharger pulley and belt tensioner in the mail. I am still waiting for the custom crank pulley to be finished. Here are some pictures. The reason for the new stuff is because i have decided to go with a 6 rib belt instead of the crappy 4 rib that came with the supercharger.
