Saying bye to my MR2

Postby Rev » Mon May 12, 2014 3:00 pm

This morning I sold my first real sports car (first car was a FWD Integra GSR) - and I know I'll miss her! It got me it through university, part time job, juggling part time work and going to school, to interviews, jobs, and in recent years became a garage queen that saw the annual detailing and photoshoots. It's never let me down or left me stranded - a testament to the legendary Toyota reliability.

Originally I was testing the waters but I've just barely found time to drive it after all these years. New owner will be coming on BCMR2 and joining meets so hopefully it'll be out and about alot more! It's been at meets, AutoX, and on internet boards from before Gran Turismo came out. Sold it within days of posting with all the OEM parts and mods I've added over the years.

94 Octane one last time.

I hope I'll be back one day but until then, thanks for all the great memories and I will still stay in touch with many of you at car meets.

We've been watching the CL ad and talking about it already. Great looking car, so I hope that the current owner takes just as good care of it as you have!

Is it an original turbo or a swapped car? I didn't think Canadian Turbos ever came with manual windows - thought that was an N/A only thing in this market.

Nope, I've seen authentic Canadian cars with manual windows. ChrisZ had a 93 like that.

Very true, his car was like that!
I'll have to check the old dealership literature I have to refresh my memory.

When I saw your ad, it was one of those times that I wish I waited a bit longer for an MR2 haha. Didn't even know there's a local MR2 with TE37s.

Thanks Ed! Easiest is probably my Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/j3rryhuang
I travel a bit for work and try my best to stay a day or two after conferences and bring my DSLR :)

I've had a number of other RWD cars over the year so MR2 really isn't getting much action haha IS300, Miata, 3 S2K's, 350Z (flipped and totaled by a crazy Chinese lady crossing median...thank god I wasn't crazy hurt) and some Euros. Still like the JDM cars :)

Here are some shoots over the years I have uploaded.

Mine has been resting in the garage for a number of years now. It stretches it's legs maybe once or twice a year if lucky. Probably heading down the same road as yours any one of these days!

Thanks for sharing the photos ... always a joy to see your work.
