Hi John,
Welcome to BCMR2.com forum.. Since the Spyder has never been officially released or imported by Toyota in Canada. Most of the Spyder enthusiasts are likely import their Spyder from US. Occasionally, you may see 1 or 2 spyder on local Craigslist site for sale. If you are seriously looking for one, you may want to follow spyderchat.com.. People in that forum are again the spyder lovers.. They pamper their car like myself and generally you have better luck to find a good condition there and import it in. I know there is one guy who imported a red one with Carbon Fiber hood, engine lid and hard top. Last time when I talk with him, he said he may want to sell it as he wants to capitalize his money to mod his STI. PM me if you are seriously looking for one...

Thanks for the reply, I'm away right now and had not looked in for a while. I follow spyderchat, lots of good info there.
I much prefer a private sale from an enthusiast and prefer a Canadian car that has already been imported.
I am serious, looking for the right one.

John in Victoria.

It's going to be tough to find one here. I really would recommend searching through the states. The selection is huge compared to the Canadian market (for obvious reasons), and the importation process isn't difficult.

I'm looking daily at several US websites. The importation process is not a big deal for me but giving away 10% up front on the dollar kknda hurts plus the inconvenience of checki g out a Calif or Ariz car. Hopefully I can locate one near Portland or Seattle.
Thanks for the comments.

For sure. Actually, looking back, when I brought mine up the dollar wasn't too far from where it is now. It all depends on what specifics you are looking for if any.

Hey John,
The guy who has the red one in Burnaby just replied me he is selling his. As stated before his Spyder is with the CF hood, CF engine lid and CF hard top. It also has the TRD stage 2 body kit as well. I don't think he has any mod to the engine though. He came to our BCMR2 gathering couple times last year.. But he left to Terrace, BC for work and just returned home recently. If you are interested in look at it, I can hook you guys up.. Let me know..

Hmm, I've never seen that one. Tell him to put an ad up here as well. While I'm not in the market for a Spyder (yet...) I'd love to see that one.

Vis make one for the MKIII Spyder. It has Lexen rear window to save weight. $$$$. But I think he have it replaced with normal MKIII glass rear window for street use. I will get him to post the ad with pictures..

There is only one Mr2 Spyder in BC that has CF hood, lid and hard top.. I hardly ever see him driving it.. Most of his time, if he is in town, he drives his STI or unless his STI is in the shop for other mods !
