Sounds like a great project, can wait to see the first batch of pictures.....

Does the body have to be modified, or the trunk hacked into in order to complete this or is it possible to keep everything in the engine bay? Oasis, do you have any pictures of yours?

And I can't wait for a ride when its all done. Sounds like there will be a good battle for fastest MKI at BC2009.

Unfortunately I have no pics of the build-up because I was in such a rush to get it running since it is my DD. Everything fits into the engine bay with no modification to the bodywork/trunk etc. I wanted to make it out to BC2008 but it wasn't (and still isn't) in a state that I'm confident in others seeing. I also wouldn't have passed tech at the drags.

I still haven't dyno-tuned it yet, so it's currently running off maps from the previous owner. I'm not completely satisfied with the low-end torque, but that's probably because I have the stock crank pulley on at the moment. I hope to install a larger one in the future.

Cameron,

You guys never cease to amaze me with the good question. My ask of the mechanic was to not jeapordize my trunk if at all possible and if it looks like we're going to have to go into the trunk, to contact me so time will tell.

only reason i would ever see to need to break into the trunk would to put a intercooler in there. supercharger already fits and theres lots of room for a turbo

Sorry to say,

I might be abandoning this project because the shop i asked to do it picked it up nearly 3 months ago and still no movement and I might be selling the '2 for a new car.....

lost hope due to lack of progress and well don't know what happened, guess the EAST took the joy out of wanting to twincharge, in any case oh well, i'll just have to settle for something else.

Update:

Ok, so it looks like i'm not buying a new car since I'm recently unemployed, so i'm throwing everythign I got at the '2. Just for the sake of being really vague, looks like for parts/mods i'm going with a BlackTop 20 valve motor instead of my stock 16 valve. Stay tuned for more updates as the ball's gonna start rolling real soon.
