NOW!!!!!!!!!

Didn't get a chance to do an alignment, ran out of time. Drove more straight than the previous wheels/tires though.

First impressions of wider/better tires; WOW THAT GRIP! Took a couple of corners a tiny bit faster than I usually did and it was so damn planted. Car was pointed in the direction I wanted to right away.

As some of you know, my hose from hell went. Wasn't as bad as I thought but it wasn't exactly a walk in the park either. I never want to do that again. Found a guide to take the oil cooler off instead of the turbo/exhaust manifold

lolwut.

Removed the oil cooler on Wednesday night after the meet

This about sums the whole thing up

Picked up the parts on Thursday morning from Gord over at Jim Pattison Toyota Surrey

Removed that sucker from the car. Before and After... yeahhhhhh...

And it's in!

Bleeding the system. Will have to do a complete drain and fill of the cooling system some other day.

Cable pliers made taking clamps off in weird places a breeze. Must invest in one of these!

Took about 5 hours between two nights and another hour or so to bleed and test drive it.

Thanks to Minna for lending me her car on Wednesday/Thursday, Marc for stopping by on Thursday and Gord for the awesome pricing on the parts! If you need OEM Toyota parts locally, be sure to hit up Gord over at Jim Pattison Toyota Surrey!

Bored at work so I guess I'll post some updates

Stock shocks blew.. That's what I get for running them with lowering springs. Got a lightly used set of Koni Yellows from Josh. It came assembled with Tein lowering springs, will be switching my H&R's over and Teins will likely go up for sale when that's done.

3 days later, clutch went so gotta take care of that.

Currently how it sits right now:

Just received this a few days ago. Southbend Stage 2 Daily clutch.

Flywheel and all that other stuff will come after the new year. Blame Christmas presents! Still deciding between Fidanza or ACT for flywheel.

I hope that clutch works well, my experience is there are so few clutches that last as well or are as smooth as the OEM clutch.

Yup, stock shocks can't take the change to the position of the rebound/compression stroke when ride height changes (especially after 20 years). That's one more thing that's so cool about Konis: you can run them lowered for several years, then go safely back to stock ride height if you want because they are not sensitive to changes in their stroke range - only a tiny handful of shock brands allow that.

I've been pretty happy with mine, and there are lots of recommendations on the forums. Are you going to get up and running before Slush#4?

You know it!!! Already signed up, don't want to learn the hard way like you and Marc did with Slush #3 LOL. Will be co-driving my car with Minna.

Haven't done much since I dropped the trans with Marc but finally cleaned it!

Before and after shots

Ordered the ACT XACT Prolite Flywheel from KO Racing, should be here within the week. Just have to pick up a few things from Gord @ JP Toyota Surrey then it's re-assembly time!!!

Replaced the clutch and the damn thing wouldn't go in gear! This was on December 21st.

Finally had time to remove the transmission again, wasn't as bad as I originally thought. Took about 2.5 hours? Took 6-7 the first time. Found out I didn't bolt the pressure plates down properly. Was suspecting clutch being installed backwards originally.

Going to slowly put it back together in the next couple of weeks - transmission is already back on so shouldn't be too much longer.

Thanks to Russ and Marc for helping out.

RePete, if you're reading this, I can't reply to your PM! Looks like it's been disabled on your end?
