1992 MR2 Turbo

Hey guys, new MR2 owner here :D
I've been to a couple of BCMR2 meets before when I decided to tag along with kakucaekz and now I can finally belong! :BeerChug: Met a few people before I got the car and spontaneously showed up to the meet on Wednesday when I got my car!!!

Rolled around in a Chevy Cobalt that my dad gave me for a few years and had a rough idea of what cars I wanted. One day a friend of mine and kakucaekz mentioned there's a rebuilt MR2 on Craigslist but it's from an engine damage and not an accident so I thought why the hell not, won't lose anything by checking it out. The previous owner was a nice guy and he was a car enthusiast and sold the car for a very cheap price because of it's rebuilt title. Checked the car out and was satisfied and the rest is history :) The paint is not the best thing in the world but the car runs and drives great! Just need to detail it for now and take care of a few things and I'll be a happy camper. Currently looking for a heat shield and a sun shade!

Future wishlist:
Coilovers
Wheels + Tires
Quad Low Rise Projectors
Short Shifter
Alarm
Lip + Sideskirts
Yellow Fogs

Nice nab, I saw that one recently and thought it was worth it too. And a relatively rare '92 as well, congrats. Never be afraid of a rebuilt title if the research proves it's just fine. Paint might be pricey down the road but it can wait.

The only bit of advice I can give is if you do go for coil-overs, avoid the cheap Chinese brands (like BC, Megan, KSport, etc.) usually under the $1,500 mark. The shocks that ship with those things are absolute junk.

Post some more pics!!

Repete is right, if you are going to do coilovers, expect to spend some serious money or expect very little in quality. Be sure to come out to a few meets (I know I missed the last one), and get involved in some autox racing, that will really teach you a lot about how the car behaves.

That's awesome, it must have been hard to go to mr2 meets without a mr2. :P

Nice car and welcome to the family of ownership! That so happens to be my neighborhood gas station I frequent. And you're using one of my two favored pumps too! Good choice!

Haha I actually gave my camera to a friend who had a break, showed him how to zoom in and just told him to hold the button down for burst shots. 200+ photos LOL.

Won't be able to go again until August unfortunately. Hopefully kakucaekz will be willing to go again now that he has his car back LOL.
