Long time no post! What I've been up to with the car over the last couple months.

Welded shut the unnecessary holes in the trunk. Dad only had an oxy welder, and I wanted to save some money so we used that.

Image

Ground flat the welds.

Image

Bondo'd and levelled the trunk as best I could.

Image

Stuck a big washer underneath the antenna hole, and welded that on. Bondo'd over the top, and smoothed it out.

Image

Putty'd my damaged side vent, and smoothed out.

Image

Scraped up lip, lol. Damn Vancouver and all their stupid speedbumps lol. No, Lansdowne. HATE those speedbumps.

Image

Took the front bumper off to fill in the holes from the license plate.

Image

Image

Found out my crash bar had a bit of surface rust, so I sprayed rust converter on it and prepared it for some paint to prevent future rusting.

Image

Of course, I like to have a little fun with the car, so being that this will never be seen, I should paint it some radical colour. So I chose this one. Once again, for fun. :D

Image

Added a moustache.

Image

Drilled the holes for the new spoiler.

Image

Test fit the spoiler.

Image

Primered all the exposed bondo, and sent it off for paint!

Image

Fast forward 2 or 3 weeks, and I'm told the car is done, and all the miscellaneous pieces are ready for pickup. I went in the mid morning to get the trim, lip, and NA engine lid, carefully placed them in the car and drove like a granny back to the shop to avoid scratching them. Took some pictures at the booth too, it was just finishing curing.

Image

Image

Didn't take a really good solid look at it, but I like how it turned out. Dad drove it back to the shop at about 5 or 6, and said that when he looked at it there are a couple of small runs under where the trim goes, and they didn't fix a small dent on the door, but other than that it's a solid job.

Going in on Sunday to put it all back together (hopefully). Can't wait to bring this out and get it on the road! :D

Man, the +94 Spoiler was such an improvement to to rear of the MKII. I'm going to need another '2 just for that reason :)

As a few of you may know, I recently spun a rod bearing on the engine and I'm pretty sure the engine is done, the damage is not worth fixing. I haven't cracked it open and taken a look yet, but I'd think it's time for a new engine.

Here is the car, loading up to be towed to my dad's place. Pitt Meadows to Richmond, luckily m_b spotted me and used his BCAA. :D

Image

With that said, I'm looking at swapping in a 3rd gen 3s. I've been trying to find a rear clip or engine with everything intact, but all I've seen so far is the one from EMS.

http://www.emspowered.com/storefront/in ... cts_id=373

It's a good price, but I've heard many bad stories about their customer service and shipping times. Any of you guys deal with them, or can find me a place to order a 3rd gen from?

4k sounds about right. Mind you its half of a car. Engine alone shipped will be close to 3k.
