My girlfriend's brother works at a local performance shop and was nice enough to bring it home yesterday for me to play with it.

It's great! You adjust the arm such that the red roller at the top is angled against the fender lip, and then you use the lever to apply pressure to the lip. You then manually roll it forward and back while slowly applying more pressure. Of course it's highly recommended to warm the paint with a heat gun beforehand to prevent the paint from cracking as the metal is stretched. The problem on an MR2 is that there's those mouldings in the way. The best way to do this would be to remove the rear one, and remove the vent.

Yeah there is almost no "fender " on the back of a 2. I think mine clears but I should roll it just to be sure.

Are you happy with the resto job, Russ? I'm procrastinating in sending down my Gram Lights... they need to be perfect before I put them on my car.

They did a good job overall. When I went to pick them up the first time, I noticed that the paint around the hub center was all chipped and scratched from a careless tire mount. They immediately apologized and took them back. When I went the second time the wheels were perfect. The only thing that I didn't like is that they painted the surface that the lug nuts mount to, so that paint gets squished and chipped immediately. Once the wheels come off for winter, I will scrape the paint off of that area myself. Fingers crossed that the paint chips haven't pulled up past the edge where the nuts mount!

You know, I don't understand that. That's all they do all damn day and they still manage to fuck it up - often too. When I go to Quiznos I don't expect them to screw up my sub and they seldom do.

Those Works look good on the car, Russ. Good job - nice offsets too. I'm thinking of getting my polished wheels refinished for a newer look to match the rest of the car. Unfortunately, because they're polished it will be quite a bit of coin to recondition them - unless I paint them.

Thanks Pete. I'm pretty happy with the wheels and how they look on the car.

Nice! That was going to be a mini project this summer but I got tied down by other things. Reconditioned may be the way to go on this considering a new cowl is somewhere around $300+.

If that were the case then you'd change that 10 year old damn avatar. Until you do, I don't believe your ass. You hate those wheels!

An unfortunate update. I got sideswiped by an 84 year old man in a new BMW 5-series today. I was in the middle lane on Marine drive eastbound, just past Knight and he came down the off ramp over two lanes of traffic right into me:

Shitty! Sucks to see that, hope you're OK and that it's repairable. Looks like it is to me, but then, I'm pretty noob haha.
