Nah, this is all make-believe, Russ is pretending. This is a "Joe-ism".

Not too much progress tonight, but the axles are seated in the tranny and the cross member is on. As it turns out the rear bracket on the transmission is quite different on an NA, so now I have to source a turbo version for that too.

Thanks Russ. I've got the suspension back together, but I've had a little hiccup with some parts from Toyota, so I have to wait a little longer for those. i still need to figure out some of the plumbing. Everything seems to be one size bigger, so I need to find a bunch of adapters.

and Russ, I do plan to bring it over for a Victoria coffee meet sometime this summer...

it's a really Sweet looking install.Engine look like it's stock,
even some of the coolant hoses line up.
and there is more room to work on it than a 3SGTE!!

I read something about these engines making knocking noises or something on a few threads, I am just curious if you've looked into it.

The last post here also worries me about what they're capable of.

Fair enough. It's a real driveability engine swap. I love how mine drives. It just isn't flat-out fast.

Also, the 2GRFE is not without its problems. They love to spit out rockers at high RPM, for example. The timing chain cover will leak and the water pumps love to fail/leak too. Higher mileage GR-series V6s are also prone to head gasket leaks (external) and failures. Coil packs go out with some regularity as well.

I'm not too worried about that stuff. You can find problems with just about every engine. Mine only has 25k km on it at this point, and I also plan on maintaining it too.

I've read all that before. Besides, once you see the engine in the car, there's lots of room to move around. If the time comes for a water pump or a timing cover, it will be super easy just to remove the motor.

Ha, call Lithia Toyota because it was their mistake that has me waiting! Besides, even at this rate I should still have it running before Joe :)
