Looks amazing Russ!
Unlike Pete's grey car where fluctuations in white balance (or temperature) make his car look a vast array of colours in photos, that's actually not what makes your car hard to photograph. Your camera is actually doing a really good job of white balance. The car appears truly white because your phone is smart enough to understand that the subject is supposed to be white, unlike Prte's grey, where the camera isn't sure what colour of grey the car is, just that it's somewhere near grey.
White cars are hard to photograph because their reflection of the ambient light is so bright. For your camera to be able to photograph the dark green trees and still provide definition, it must overexposed your car, so you end up losing definition in your white because it's being "clipped" outside the dynamic range of your camera. This is why HDR (High Dynamic Range) photos look so unrealistic sometimes, your mind just knows that most cameras can't deal with such a range of contrast. The HDR mode on cell phone cameras might help, but it's not foolproof. If you're interested in learning more about this read about digital image "histograms."
Basically what's happening is that even though your car is the subject you're losing definition in it to preserve definition in your background. Conversely, the same happens photographing a black car or dog in the snow.
Did I mention the car looks really great yet,
