Looks like it doesn't help. A bearing seems silly there. The force isn't very rotational.

Adam,

The stock plastic bearing in the pedal will disintegrate with time (and/or a stiffer clutch), which leads to wear of the hole in the pedal. The OEM clevis can crack or shear for the same reasons.

Cam,

The bearing disintegrated a while back, it might be somewhere back in this thread, but I replaced it with a steel bushing from PrincessAuto. I'll likely do the same for the short term, but the aluminum is just too soft for the force required to push on my clutch pedal. I'm not sure what I'm going to do about it long term yet.

Yup exactly but the bearing is really small and rated force is really low from the research I did.

I've got more than a few things for you Cam, I'll have to send you a detailed email in the next couple of days.

On another note, I found this pic that someone snapped during the Afterfest cruise:

Seems like a different material of bushing would be better. Instead of a bearing.

If they keep the same design, this thing needs to be steel, or at least something stronger than the aluminum they are using.

Well possibly low quality aluminum then something stronger. 7075 etc
As cheaper alum is (cheap) and easy to machine
I just find it funny that Honda never seems to have this problem. Not sure is bores on clutch master/ slave are larger and having less pressure (force)needed

So, many of you have seen the new paint already, and I've mentioned that it went to Autowerkes Exclusive to get Opti-coated and sealed with Opti-seal. This is the result:

I picked up another set of jdm clear corners a while ago because they were super cheap and included the wiring harnesses. Today I finally wired them up and at the same time I wired in the halos in the Pegasus lights.

Afterwards I went up to Cypress to take a couple of pics with the now famous waterfall. It's tough to get pics of a shiny white car in the sun. If my phone does have a white balance I haven't even looked for it.

I met a couple of other Revscene members there as well, and I brought the dog.

Looks amazing Russ!

Unlike Pete's grey car where fluctuations in white balance (or temperature) make his car look a vast array of colours in photos, that's actually not what makes your car hard to photograph. Your camera is actually doing a really good job of white balance. The car appears truly white because your phone is smart enough to understand that the subject is supposed to be white, unlike Prte's grey, where the camera isn't sure what colour of grey the car is, just that it's somewhere near grey.

White cars are hard to photograph because their reflection of the ambient light is so bright. For your camera to be able to photograph the dark green trees and still provide definition, it must overexposed your car, so you end up losing definition in your white because it's being "clipped" outside the dynamic range of your camera. This is why HDR (High Dynamic Range) photos look so unrealistic sometimes, your mind just knows that most cameras can't deal with such a range of contrast. The HDR mode on cell phone cameras might help, but it's not foolproof. If you're interested in learning more about this read about digital image "histograms."

Basically what's happening is that even though your car is the subject you're losing definition in it to preserve definition in your background. Conversely, the same happens photographing a black car or dog in the snow.

Did I mention the car looks really great yet, :)

The throw out bearing that came with my ACT clutch was howling whenever there was any pressure on the clutch, the time finally came to swap it out for an OEM Toyota bearing. Since it's such a labour intensive job, I purchased a new Southbend Stage 2 - Endurance clutch kit and a new friction surface for my Fidanza flywheel. Here's the pics:
