so last night was successful for only working on it till 2:30 in the morning instead of the usual 5:00 a.m. routine.

we removed the suspenssion in whole from the other car including subframes. and the same on the new car. from there we installed the entire units onto the new car. ebrake works grea and did not break anything or screw anything up in the process.

after doing that we decided it was time to see if the engine would even start

this had us a little bit concerned because as far as we know there are no automatic cars turned into a 20v manual. so there were a few little wires up in the air that we had heard rumor about concerning the clutch pedal start button ECT etc..... luckily when we installed the clutch pedal. just like a manual it had the harness clip for the clutch start button and all was plug and play. it plugged straight to the body harness and ecu. no modifications were needed at all. it was a complete plug and play to the body harness like the car was already a manual 20v. this made the night to hear it start and know that there was not going to be a wirring nightmare to figure out.

still left on the list, plug a few more things up, inthe engine bay, install fenders doors and front bumper/ alences/lips
install everything interior wise withing the car as there is nothing but the dash in there still.

and also to swap the front suspenssion from the other car as we did in the rear. and she will be ready, after installling the axles. but it is still going to be a little while because were getting tired of pulling all nighters a couple times a week.

Thanks, guys. I might have found a different dash board from a technician at work so that might be replaced with the rest of the interior. Then all the wiring for my gauges and switches have to loomed through the cabin. After the body panels are bolted back on the front end, she will finally start to look like a real promising conclusion to this project. But there's still a TON of things to do with the front suspension, wheels, interior and I'm finding a tough time finding a left front fender. That and the lack of sleep is starting to take its toll. And my back isn't liking all the wrenching either. However, the finish is well within sight.

lol we even signed the bare chassis! BCMR2.com represent!

Almost forgot to put Redline MT-90 gear oil in the gearbox so I filled it from the top thru a bolt hole not too many people know about. It's the easiest way to do so without a hand pump.

I also spent some time soldering my auxillery gauge wires in the engine bay and ran them into the cabin. The wires leading to the clutch start switch also broke when I was playing with it so I soldered that up too. And I finished deleting the last of the cruise control by un-pinning the harness under the steering column.

Replacing a roof mounted antenna is a pain in the ass. Pink ribbon FTW.

Why the hell did I went ahead and removed the dashboard...

I'm pulling the rear window glass tomorrow so I'm gonna need you to help hold it so it doesn't break.

New headlamp buckets, alignment screws, grommets, retainer rings and screws:

New Hella H4 headlamp:

Center vent and how its mounted:

Driver's side eyeball vent:

The passenger's side vent was broken so that will have to come later:

Cleaned the clock and fixed the lens retainer in the clock's frame with my soldering iron:

Installing the newer, uncracked dashboard from an '87. Good gracious, this was a bitch and a half! If you want a tip, install the clock last. There's a metal clip that needs to grab the sheet metal on the firewall. Without a clock in the way you can grab the clip through the clock opening and guide it.

The automatic instrument cluster:

I didn't really feel like taking apart two gauge clusters to change the transmission indicator lights to a volt gauge so I just put this on ein and the rest of the trim:

Thanks dude, but I'd rather not disassemble any more than I have to. I'm on a time crunch as this car will be on the race track July 17th. The new headlamp stuff, antenna, fuel hoses, gaskets, hardware and clips are from Michael's Toyota of Bellevue where I always get my parts. They are pretty knowledgable about the MR2 and are able to receive parts quickly.

Those tires are the best thing I've bought over last winter. The new Scion wheels too! They are called Gislaved NordFrost5 and they were able to get my MR2 up to the Mt. Baker summit in the middle of our winter storm! It might have been courageously stupid but it was EPIC! :o
