drop us a pic

Beware .......
There is a reason the dealer puts a harmonic balancer at the front of the engine.

Removing it and putting a light weight pulley with no harmonic section can cause engine damage.

What does it look like

Well there is a reason that the stock pulley has the rubber section in it.
A number of companies have turned away from making the underdrive crankshaft pulleys.

Like AEM keeps the stock Camshaft pulley but replaces the Alternator and power steering pulleys....

other pulleys

Postby kinesis » Mon Nov 03, 2003 10:36 pm

so what would the accumulated effect be like in comparison to changing the steering and alternator pulley versus just the crank pulley?

and when you say damaging, what kind and how likely?

also who makes these steering and alt pulleys, please?

thanks

Well if you reduce the size of the crank pulley that underdrives the accessories.
If you increase the size of the accessory pulleys that does the same thing.

I have no idea who makes this stuff for a mr2......
I think its kind of a waste of money personally

Damage....... broken crank, blown engine bearings, damage to oil pump
