One of the nicest mid engine rides. But isn't this the one that keeps popping up once in a while and never seems to sell? Not much you can do with a car that will cost you its own principle to get it on public roads (and only if you have a connection at the DOT). Seems a waste to just rally or auto-x this car only.

I would have to agree; however, if I had extra cash lying around...I would buy it and store it in the living room of my castle until such time at which I could legally register it.

I was going to purchase it .. then MR2quik turned up , plus there was the hassle of not getting it properly registered ... the rules seemed to risky to deal with . Funny how this car doesnt have LSD ....seems very lame and pointless to purchase without it .

As it is RHD..NO TITLE CAN BE OBTAINED without first converting it to CDN specs until 2011.

You can register it and drive it legally. There's a loophole that'll get you around it. If a car was previously available in Canada, you can import later models of the same generation. Because the car was previously sold in Canada, you can import, register and drive it because they already know it meets crash tests. You may have problems with emissions tho.

This car had not through federal inspection and it cannot do so . The vehicle was bought in as a salvage vehicle and as I kow it this is the only way of bringing a vehicle from Japan. The " trick " is to get another legit vehicle and swap in the dash and VIN ... the issue is then will they look at the chassis number on the front wall... I did read through a shite load of paperwork trying to figure out whether when you use want legit car and a second salvaged vehicle and amalgamate them you can get it registered under a new VIN that you must apply for ... it may be possivle but I just dont have the time currently to go thru the hassle.
