Wtb speedo cable

Postby dh4ever » Sun Apr 20, 2014 2:21 pm

Hey guys I'm looking for a speedo cable. The short one from the transmission to the splice under the floor. It's for a 91. It's a jdm gearbox if that matters

To be honest these are hard to find as a common fail item

What's my best option? I hate seeing the check engine light and using my gps. Can I get a lordco one or lithia or eBay? eBay ones are decently priced.

Is it 100% the cable ?
I personally only recommend oem
As most items on eBay are cheap junk. It's your call if you want to risk the eBay one for the savings

Does a failed cable lead to a check engine light?

It's a jdm ecu. Throwing vehicle speed sensor code. I guess if I cut the wire to the ecu that would solve that. I know cutting it can mess with PS but I don't have ps so that bits ok. I don't know if it will effect anything else I went for an eBay one. Should work till I get my hands on an oem and have a few extra pennies to buy it. I just did the clutch and bought a welder.
