WTB 94 MR2 N/A Red

Postby sbarc » Tue Apr 15, 2014 12:12 am

I'm interested in buying a red 94 MR2 N/A with T-tops. Prefer an accident free car with a clean rust free body. I plan to use this car for my Beams project.

wow....I didn't find either of these when I searched CL yesterday. The Tallahassee one looks very promising.....but the airffare to buy it and shipping to get it to Blain would raise the price into my "hurting zone".......if it was withon about 1000 km of me I would probably go for it. ....but it's about 3000 km away.

I got an answering machine on the second one, so I don't know the colour......the 3000 price made it more attractive considering it is so far away.

Thanks very much Russ and please keep looking for me.

I've seen several Florida cars and they are usually a little sun baked but typically in great shape. Many there garage them too as the intense sun kills everything on the car eventually.

As for shipping, I would just buy a one-way flight and then drive it back. The added miles are negligible on a 165k car anyway and the road trip back would be a blast.

Thanks...what is the process to buy a car......and drive it back....registering the car and buying insurance?....or do you just buy a 2 day permit and hope for the best?

I've always been under the impression you aren't allowed to transfer the car into your name until you get inside Canada....

If you specifically want a red 94 NA, then you have to be willing to travel. There were something like 908 94's sold in the USA in total so to specifically find a red, NA, manual significantly limits your choices. At best you might find something in California.

To import a car into Canada, check out my handy little write up here. It's a few years old now, but it will lay out the basics. Once you've read through it check over the government sites one more time in case anything has changed. At least now all mk2's are old enough that you won't have to deal with RIV.

For searching multiple craigslist sites at one time, I go to http://www.searchtempest.com.
