Things I learned today in the Spence's Bridge Run.

Postby petesmr2 » Sun Apr 18, 2004 6:52 am

1. The BCMR2 club ROCKS!!! :D
2. Spence's Bridge is not a place to live to commute to Vancouver.
3. When riding in a group (and slightly over the speed limit), the police will only nail the lead driver.
4. I need to get new tires for my 2, and soon! :?

Thanks to the guys that organized this run, Drscam, MR2MK1SC, Camshaft, Redtwo, and anybody else that worked to make this a success.

Wish I could have kept going with the group to Spence's Bridge/Merritt, but I had to get back to town by 6pm.

Yeah, Duncan did get a written warning from our friend the RCMP officer. The rest of us got a verbal warning. But I really think that the officer was just wanting to check out the cars. He asked a lot of questions about the cars. He seemed to be in a pretty good mood with us, even gave us a suggestion of another place to drive where the road is equally challenging (Hwy 8 from Merritt)

Too bad about Mario, hopefully, this fix doesn't hurt his wallet too badly.

Looking foward to seeing all the pics, as well as the next run. Sign me up already for that one.

I've got to say I had a great time...
The smoking drive between Spences Bridge and Merrit was fantastic...
Been a LONG time since I've pushed the car like that.. Got to love those corners at speed.
Don't think my wife had that great of a time on that part of the drive but I sure did. I think her knuckels are still white from hanging on!

Thanks all

I am glad you had a good time, Pete; it was awesome to finally meet you.

petesmr2 wrote:2. Spence's Bridge is not a place to live to commute to Vancouver.

Long commute... but you would have a huge grin when you got to work though (depending on traffic)

Radar detectors, FRS, and some street smarts saved us a few times.

petesmr2 wrote:4. I need to get new tires for my 2, and soon! :?

We have a new BCMR2 sponsor in www.tiretrends.com Bob will hook you up.

You are welcome; I am happy you all had fun. This was a great kick off to BCMR2's driving season... you guys can expect more of the same...leading to BC2004.

There were a lot of peeps that had to leave early... The best part of the drive was between Spence's Bridge and Merritt.

Wow... 4 warnings given in one day and 3 went to Holyrain. We just need to be more careful when driving in a large group. As a large group of sporty cars... we already have a lot of eyes on us... The CIVIC clubs have a bad reputation and a lot of "law-abiding" clubs such as ourselves get scruitinized for it.

I hope Mario or Luigi (Roberto) will post with an update.

Nice pics Robb, I hope you had a good time as well. Life on the mainland tends to be a bit less laid-back...

Again Welcome to BCMR2 Owners Group.

Nice... A lot of wives/GF's come out to support their better halves in their passion, the MR2. We still have a few diehards that come out; however, they are slowly diminishing.

Danielle did really well, Cam. Congratulate her for me. I hope to see her and many more spouces/ GF at more events.

Tips on seeing my SBR pics

Postby petesmr2 » Sun Apr 18, 2004 2:05 pm

This link brings you to a website that Sony hosts. You get to post your pics for free. The catch however, is that you have to sign up for a "free" account. Once done, then you can see everybody's pics that posted here, I just copied what others did. The thing is about "free" accounts is that you then leave yourself open to getting more SPAM from them.
