Sept.26th-28th, 2003: Annual "2 the Beach" UPDATES

I am getting a little worried..... I need to see people making their reservations.

Not only is it making me look bad to my boss that no one has made a reservation....

But I am about to spend some of my own money for the event. I am going to be gathering prizes and certificates for the car show. Booking the Texas BBQ guy to come over to the convention center, they may charge me to rent the parking lot at the convention center. I am going to get a special menu put together for the Waves restaurant just for us.

I am going to put a lot of effort into this to make it a great event!

But I can't hold these rooms forever.... These rooms are being held especially for us MR2 owners.... so that means they are blocked from the general public, so if I have to cancel this event, and I have been holding these rooms for us.... my boss may not look to good on that.

I know that there is good interest in the event. But PLEASE make reservations soon! I really need to get an idea how many are coming.

Remember that if you need to, you can cancel your reservation at no charge to you.... just make sure to Cancel the day before the event.

I am going to rent 1 room for people who can't afford to stay, but would like to. There can be a total of 6 people in that room.

Thanks guys!

Don't worry, Lyle....

We went through the same thing with BC2003.. Everything will work out. People are just waiting to see this event happen (sign-ups and registrations) Start a roll call page (people that are interested). Wait a week and then start harassing those people to make a reservation. You can start with me.

Let's all touch base when the time nears ... maybe if our time schedule works out, we can at least all caravan down there together!

& I'm actually considering driving the '2 down. We'll see how the weather goes.

Also let me know what time you guys are going to head out! I am going to have everybody meet in Olympia, WA. I will meet you all there, and we will have a "super" caravan of MR2's from B.C., Seattle, Portland, and Idaho! That should turn a few heads on the Highway!

If only minutes then don't worry about it...hours...now we are talking.

Aparantly Lyle is awaiting our email as to what time we will be in Olympia to meet up with the rest of the convoy. They would rather have only one meeting time in Olympia.

well pick a time and let me know. Meeting at my place around 5ish is fine. Olympia from there is a few hours roughly.

I'd guess 8ish in Olympia.
