Postby Lyle Beach » Sun Aug 03, 2003 5:25 am

As you may already know, I am hosting a group run to Ocean Shores, WA

See thread for details:

"2 the Beach" Details

As I mentioned in that thread, the room block is set up for us!
$99 for a full ocean view room, with livingroom, Microwave, Refridgerator, Wet bar, and a gas fireplace.

Free Continental Breakfast

More details here:

Best Western Lighthouse Suites Inn

Make sure you get your reservation soon! So you can get the best view!

Don't worry if your plans change and you can't make it.... there is a 24 hr cancellation policy, so all you would have to do is call 24 hours before the meet and cancel at NO CHARGE

Remember.... this is a 2 day event, but if you only want to stay one of the nights, that is okay as well! Day trippers are also welcome.

When you call to make reservations, make sure to tell them that you are part of a group. Ask for the MR2 Northwest Group.

Phone number to the hotel direct 1-800-757-7873

Remeber this will be an annual event! Make sure to be a part of the 1st annual event!

cheers, -Lyle-

This 1st annual "2 the Beach" sounds like an excellent time. Lyle has put a lot of work into ensuring we all enjoy ourselves. I would like to see a minimum of 10 cars from Vancouver attend this September weekend:

Aly

PS This is a great hotel deal as normally the rates are $189USD per night.

Well we had a classic ford pick-up meet out here this weekend...

Looked like a good time!

Much like the good time we are going to have out here!

The week before was a VW meet (jetta's, corrodo's, shiracco's)

There are a lot of car clubs that come to Ocean Shores.... Ferrari, NSX, S2000, ect....

Lets show them what our MR2's are all about!

Cheers, -Lyle-

Lyle,

I too was disappointed that you were unable to attend BC2003; I was looking forward to meeting you.

There is some confusion where this event is concerned. Some PNW Owners were saying that this is not just an MR2 event as there will be other car clubs present.

Can you clear this up?

Yes, Unfotunatly work prevented me to attend BC2003 :( It sound like it was such a good time! For sure, count me in next year, plus at least 5 MR2's from my area!

Indeed I need to clear some things up....

This is going to be a weekend that is exclusive and special for MR2's only. I have invited a couple of Celica Alltrac's, but I am unaware if they are going to make the show... Also someone wanted me to invite the new corrollas. I am unsure if I personally want this, as I want to keep it exclusive to the MR2. Let me know what you think!

Also note I have added another thing to the agenda. A bonfire on the beach is always a good time! We will be having a great big bonfire on Friday night after registration and dinner. (you don't have to drive your MR2 on the beach if you don't want as there is near by parking) Actually I would advise against driving your 2 on the beach (don't want anyone to get stuck) If you want to drive on the beach, I would suggest doing it during the day and staying on the hard compacted sand! Yes! driving on the beach itself is perfectly legal in Ocean Shores!

Summary:

MR2's will be the only car club in town.

Keep in mind this is a free event! No registration fees... you only pay for Hotel, food, and gas of coarse!

Hope I cleared some things up!

Thank You!,

MR2 Exclusivity is the way to go in my opinion. I have to sort some finances and then I will book my hotel.

Great idea Lyle! I know you will get a decent turnout.

Room Sharing and Meet Times

Postby Lyle Beach » Fri Aug 22, 2003 12:52 pm

Please post on here if you would be willing to room share.

I will get a spare room for people who need to room together... okay?

Anyway everybody, I am working the graveyard shift for the next few nights..... Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon..... 11pm till 7am... if any of you night owls want to give me a call for questions or reservations, I will be available.

Don't hesitate to call! 1-800-757-7873

I would like to set up a meeting time in Olympia, WA.... this is where I will meet you all before we cruise out to Ocean Shores! We are going to have a HUGE caravan of 2's. Because we will be waiting in Olympia for everyone to get there from B.C., Seattle, Portland, and some from Idaho.

We will be meeting in Olympia on Friday the 26th so I am assuming the meeting time will have to be around 6:00pm - 7:00pm to give everyone time to get off work and head out

Getting excited yet!

Thanks, Lyle Beach
