PARKS UPDATE:
I just spoke with Olympia and with rangers at Fort Casey State Park. Our options are as follows:
1. Each of us pay $10 upfront on State Parks Fees
2. Each of us pay $10 at the gates (Traffic jam)
3. You take your chances on a $91 ticket that, if you buy a year long pass after receiving the ticket for $30, will be reduced to around $50 (As per what the ranger told me)
They just got back from a meeting in Olympia and they were instructed to start ticketing anyone in violation, due to having been cut out of the state's budget. They rely on these fees unfortunately.
The $10 fee will cover our entrances into Casey and Deception Pass State Park, and any other state parks you feel like visiting that day, maybe on the way home. I dunno.
The OTHER option is that we don't go to state parks at all. Which means I'd need to get on Google Earth and start modifying the route. I don't *really* want to do this, but if it's what everyone else wants to do I'd consider it.
Please give me feedback ASAP, and if we decide to buy state park passess, PLEASE be proactive about purchasing them online BEFORE the drive. Thanks guys!
