Shift knob suggestions :]

Postby kakucaekz » Wed Aug 24, 2011 9:26 pm

Yo guys, been lurking the forums for quite a while, and need some suggestions. I'm kinda new, but was at the coffee meet in Vancouver in July, if some of you guys recall. I'm wanting a new shift knob, since the one that I have now is kinda getting worn out and I want to change it up every so often. A pretty nice Razo knob came with the car when I bought it, and a friend kindly gave me what I think is a 93 TRD knob, only I think it's a knock off. Pics below, Razo on the left, TRD on the right.

And a pic with the Razo knob in the car.

I'm looking for suggestions for any nice shift knobs, and I've been looking at the TRD ball for a while. Thing is with that, I think it'd look best with a short shifter setup, and I'd like to keep an OEM shifter in my car. With that said, I've also been thinking of a 93 shifter to combo with the TRD knob. I don't exactly have the luxury of spending money experimenting with knobs either, so any opinions on shift knobs would be nice :D I'm looking for something in leather, nice weight to it, and rounded similar to the Razo one I got now. Also feel free to throw some stuff you might have for sale my way too :D

Seems like a like to write lots.

Have you looked into the 98' JDM shift knob, its black with perforated leather and red stitching. Its a nice looking knob, the best part is that its OEM.

Here is a link to one that up for sale as we speak!

PO installed a leather, heavy-weight Razo on mine for smooth shifting - with red stitching to match the car, almost looks OEM. Love it, I couldn't ask for better.

Oh damn, those 98 spec shift knobs looks nice as hell, but $130 is just too much for me =\ That's more than 1/3 the price of 94 tails, which I also want :P

RePete, you got a pic? :P

Aw Oteck, way to make me envy you more lol.

Any suggestions for anything that looks OEM and cheaper?

It should last at least 10 years minimum, and for that amount of time it isn't really too much. :P

Hm true, I'll guess I'll prioritize that after my tails, springs, steering wheel and speakers. Man, I've a lot of things I wanna do to this car lol, still want a CT20b turbo, 94 wing and 93 brakes haha.
