Check to see if there is power coming into the light. Also check all the connections around the light housing for corrosion. This light also runs off of the 15A dome fuse.

Have you ever used a test light before? You can buy them from a place like Princess Auto, in a kit or alone. Probe the wiring going to the trunk light until it lights up, if it doesn't on any wire then you don't have power and the wire is shorting to ground somewhere along the line or it is severed.

Your fuse will be in a fuse panel, just open the lid to each one and read the names off, there's one under your dash by the pedals that should have the fuse you're looking for. You can test a fuse by looking at it, if the small wire connecting each blade of the fuse is broken, then the fuse is blown. This is an indication that the circuit is shorted somewhere, so you will need to follow the necessary wiring to locate it. Use your test light to probe the wire for power. Start where it is on, closest to your power source (battery), and keep going until it goes out, and then you have found your short.

Good luck!

Proper Diagnostic:
Does your dome light work? then it's the fuse. if that doesn't work check if the trunk switch is connected or not. this would be the grey connector on your trunk lock switch. It's highly doubtful anyone would mess around with those wiring unless you can spot some hack wiring going in your trunk
