The power of 12 volts and the reason for a battery hold down

Postby camshaft » Sat Jul 19, 2008 9:20 pm

Just wanted to post a picture of what can happen when your battery hold down is missing or loose.

This is what happens when your rear J bolt is missing and the hold down bracket grounds to the + terminal.
And just how easy your baby can be burnt to the ground.

Please for heavens sake properly secure your battery.
It may seem unimportant at the time...

This bolt was almost cut in 2 pieces from the battery hold down touching the + terminal.
You can see if you look closely how the color of the bolt has changed to something that used to be red hot at one point in time.

just had to do it on my sisters geo tracker. every time she would hit a bump she was losing power. it was grounding out and melting a spot on her engine hood.
God created turbo lag to give the v8's a brief moment of hope
