Just thought I'd add my piece...Cam just finished some work for me on my cooling system and was very informative about the heap of stuff I still need for it. Very professional and fast, straightforward and easy to understand. Thanks Cam!

Cam is probably one of the only guys i know who does his job thoroughly and look into the problem step by step. My previous mechanic couldn't find the problem with my mr2 and he had it for a full month!! and as soon i contacted Cam, he had everything working with in 4 days or so!.. His rates and service is honestly the BEST! WOULD DEAL WITH HIM AGAIN HANDS DOWN! 8)

Thanks dude..
I'm glad that I could be of some assistance as it was obvious you where stuck. Once again it sad to see a young mr2 enthusiast stuck in a hard place. Shame the shop you took your car to had to resort to guessing. Calling a ECU on any car with out some technical reason only leads to head scratching and empty wallets.. :?

cheers
cam

I know this is way after the fact, but cam went WAY above and beyond to help me out when he didn't really have to make the extra effort. Drove way out of the way for hours to follow me hoping that my car would break, spent huge amounts of time answering emails etc.

As far as I know, he has had to move on from his MR2 hobby and work due to personal reasons. Last I heard he was selling off all of his MR2 parts. I would suggest contacting him by e-mail and confirming.

As we all know, Cam has moved on from working on MR2s and has pretty much stopped responding to e-mails and PMs until further notice. I will be moving this post down to non-sticky until he comes back, and then I'd be happy to place it back in place. This is to avoid confusion, and also to make those new to the club aware that there are other mechanics on the board able to do work for you as well.

Please contact Jordan (_mr2_), myself, or Joe (Oteck) for help with your MR2.

Big Thanks to you Cam,

My car lost power and was surging and the problem kinda started suddenly.
For over a month i was checking the plugs cap rotor wires fuel pump fuel filter.

Everything looked fine, ignition components were little over a year old.

So i PM Cam and he told me that the ngk copper plugs i had maybe the problem.

I was thinking it has not been that long since i change my plugs, and this is a pretty strange problem for plugs to cause unless the plugs were really messed up.

Oh well could not hurt and plug only cost about 20 bucks.

I went with what was oem for my car which were ngk platinum.

After i got them in and low and behold the problem went away i was amazed.

Thanks again Cam

So moral of the story dont use copper plugs in your NA 3sge MR2

Copper plugs are for turbo applications and rarely last longer then 5k. So if your not running above stock boost then OEM plugs are trouble free and last longer then 5k
