O2 Sensor/Code 21

Postby Variance » Wed Oct 14, 2015 10:18 am

Threw a code 21, so looks like I'm in the market for an O2 Sensor. Anyone have any local leads besides Lordco/Napa etc...

So far I'm going for Denso #234-4156.

I believe that Denso is the OE supplier. If I were in the market for it, I would just call up Aly at Napa. I can't see this being a very expensive part.

No, this is a different Aly, but he is also an MR2 owner and will be happy to help you out.

First, the guys at Napa have been great. Does Aly happen to drive a green sw20? I think I may have seen him rolling around in the area.

Does anyone have any experience with NTK/NGK O2 Sensors? For the life of me, the plug won't clip in. It slides in fine, but just won't lock. I have the strength of a school girl, but I tested the OEM and it clips in with ease. Does it just need more brute force that I don't have lol?

Yes Aly does have a dark green (AMP) mk2.

Sometimes those plastic clips can be kind of hit and miss. If it's working fine with the original, take a close look at why it's not clipping into the new sensor. You might just have to take a little exacto knife and trim part of the connector ever so slightly.
