86 stock 16v falls on face

Postby hokus » Mon Feb 11, 2013 3:49 pm

I took my 2 on a road trip today and my car revs fine all the way to 7g but when on highway she falls on her face over 4g new plugs cap etc. So no idea what's going on plug valley is clear no oil or water or anything just not sure where to start funds are a little tight so any suggestions where to start? Any advice would be great

So runs fine but has no power? How's your cat? If it clogged or collapsed inside it could cause it to loose power. It happened to me in my jeep. Couldn't get it up the hill from the port Mann. If it can be removed, or inspected give it a shot. I pulled mine right out and ran it, noticeable difference.

I had a Bad AFM once and it ran fine unless I was getting on it because it was not accurately monitoring the extra airflow I was forcing through it when i would hit the gas hard.

Could be a fuel delivery issue as well. Dirty old fuel filter?

Do a compression test. Might be valve which is less serious. Mine were puking like a mofo out the exhaust side.
