JDM O2 Sensor

Postby MR2_Jester » Tue Mar 06, 2012 6:37 pm

Hey guys I have a 91 JDM turbo. trying to replace the O2 sensor here, I first got one made for a 91 2.2L engine that didn't even come close to fitting. I've now tried a 92' O2 sensor that looks like it should fit but is literally about a centimeter too big. I know 1991 is the weird year for the JDM where the USDM 91 is an MK1 and the JDM 91 is a MK2. So getting parts is pretty confusing. Anyone know what I need to be replacing it with???

Actually a USDM 91 is the first year of the mk2. In Japan you could get an '89 mk2, where as the USDM was a mk1. In any case, post up a pic of the sensor that is in the car now, and someone might recognize it, otherwise take you actual sensor down to the parts store and ask to match it to something '90's Toyota.

ive got a 91 JDM engine and wiriung in my canadian car, so I had the same problem. I picked up an addapter to change from the 2 bolt setup to a standard 18mm thread. I then got a bosch universal 1 wire O2, then spliced the old plug to the new sensor. Works well, Ive got a wideband on the car and the ECU accepts the signal and works normal.
