Two's R Us is having an amazing sale on their Koni Yellow struts, they do it every now and then.

These shocks with TRD or Eibachs lowering springs is what many people are running including myself. A nice combination which provides performance for daily driver vehicles.

One more camping trip in the truck this weekend, then the MR2 is hittin the road!

parts should be arriving soon - and I'll be looking for a decent set of rims with some dish.

plans for the following week:
-wash/wax
-fix ttop leak (minor)
-install intake and clear corners
-possibly install new coilovers if the deal goes through.

..always fun to get a new car.

Yep just picked up some JIC Magic coilovers w/ pillow ball mounts (off craigslist). Going to need a few days to really have fun with this car.

I'll take some photos as I go along

Alright so she's finally on the road. Parked the 4runner until the next camping trip...

Gave it a wash and took these photos, then realized it needed a wax badly. A full wax later and it looks 10x better, almost like new paint!

Today I'm going to jack it up and have a good look underneath, see what size of a wheels/tire setup to mount. Hopefully 16x8 with a +15 ish offset and 245/40/16's. The coilovers will allow for some more room, might have to get the fender roller out too.

Ebay parts have arrived, install and photos soon!

Are you planning on doing that all around or what?
Keep in mind, installing coil overs actually makes it worse in the front as far as I know.

Ask Repete, he's a wheel guru and knows everything about fitment of wheels on these cars if you have to.

Some nice websites to help you out.

^thanks for the links, I'll have to check those out.

I got the intake installed, sounds much better than stock and actually fits half decent. Getting the stock intake garbage out was a pain though hah.

Question: How do I remove the front corner lights and side markers.... do I have to remove the fender liner?

To get the to the side markers you'll have to get under the fender liner. I think it's just a couple of screws that holds it in. For the corner lights, pop off the reflector with a flat head screwdriver, and unscrew the screw that is under it. Then the rest of the corner light pops off, iirc.

In case I don't make sense:

Everything off

Copy that, thanks.

I diagnosed the front suspension noise.... the rubber "bushing" (or whatever you want to call it) holding the top of the strut disintegrated, so the strut was freely bouncing around and making a heck-of-a-lot of noise. Looks like the coilovers will have to go on tomorrow.

Bad timing (first day on the road), but also good timing as I already have the coilovers.
