I tried to walk away from MR2's. I tried very hard, very very very hard to walk away. Thought of just giving up on the car hobby completely. Thought that 10 years of owning MR2's was enough. That after doing multiple swaps for people on mk1's, mk2's. That owing both a NA mk2, and Turbo Mk2 it was enough. There was even a very dark period of 1 month that I owned and rebuilt a mk1 auto(ewwww I still can't shake that dirty feeling off). I was so close to just getting something boring, and selling out. Then this happens, along had to come a Spyder. Not just any Spyder but the right Spyder, one with coilovers, upgraded clutch, perfect body, the face lift model, the right exterior color, low miles 53k only, a TURBO!!! All this for a insanely cheap price!!! I literally paid less for this car then I did for either of my previous mk2's that were already 10 years old, both with 130k at the time.
So what was the kicker, there's always a catch right. First found this at a Dealership of all things. The car literally died hours before I went to see it. While in the dealership parking lot as they were taking photos to post their ad, the engine blew up due to rod knock. Blew a hole in the short block and wasn't even on their lot but next door at their "shop". I was somehow able to talk them into paying out their pocket for me a brand new built short block, low comp and built for boost this time that I personally got to order off their company credit card!!! So here I am unable to sleep, plotting and planing ,itching for the new short block to come. Russ lets plan another Leavenworth Drive this summer. I got my project, and so do you. Will we both be able to make it in time. If not I'll see the BC crew at the beach this year.
