My beloved '2 blew her head gasket today. I guess it was only a matter of time, but I'm so proud that she made it 19 years and 346000kms on a stock gasket. Now it's parked for an indefinite amount of time, I will slowly work on it and replace parts. Good thing I bought the '85 MR2, I'm really thanking myself for making such a good decision. It's too bad she couldn't wait another week until I had it aircared and the exhaust on, but I suppose she's just had enough. I'm still happy to say that besides that issue, before this happened, she was still boosting strong and running beautifully, so I've still got a strong, healthy engine under that mess of coolant and oil. By the way, no coolant mixed with oil, it was just the oil all over the engine I was referring to from the leak someplace (which will also now get to be fixed hooray!).
So, here's to you Pearl, you gave me 46000 wonderful yet difficult kilometers, and 300000 to others before me, you deserve a nice vacation and refresh.
